A hearty bean soup is good for the soul. We'll bring the colorful bean mix and savory seasonings... you add the love!
Prepare & Serve
Place bean mix in large pot. Add water to cover beans 2 inches and soak overnight.
Drain water, add 6.5 cups fresh water and seasoning packet. Cover and bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1.5 hours or until beans are tender. Add 3 cups diced cooked ham or smoked sausage, one 16 oz can stewed tomatoes, 2 tablespoons lime or lemon juice. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes. Serve hot.
Yields 2.5 quarts.
Assorted dried beans, peas, and lentils. Seasoning packet includes onion, chicken bouillon, red pepper, garlic, and black pepper.
